Studio AB offers a complete range of design services. Rates vary depending on scope and location of project. An initial consultation or garden coaching session is $200 for sites located in the North Seattle area. We embrace the uniqueness of our region and the opportunity for development of complex sites with difficult conditions and limitations.

Whether for a small remodel of a front entry, or creating a master plan, we typically implement this process:

  • Initial consultation & site assessment

  • Conceptual design & research

  • Client response & synthesis

  • Design detailing & materials selection

With a palette of natural elements that change over time, we strive to create engaging places for people that successfully transition the native landscape into a healthy built environment.

Often working collaboratively with other design-build professionals Studio AB can craft an extraordinary space that is a hybrid of art, architecture and garden.

Inspiration stems from a fascination with the natural world. Concepts are often derived from abstract forms of nature found in abundance here in the Pacific Northwest, as well as from principles of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian design.

Our schematic design process involves clearly defining the client’s goals, overall budget, property research, and site analysis.

Construction documentation is often necessary to generate a thorough installation estimate. We have experience detailing the components of various components such as planting design,  arbors, fencing, fountains, retaining walls, and low-voltage lighting systems. We also offer 3-D modeling & rendering and ‘as-built’ drawing production.

Beyond design services Studio AB also offers project supervision and plant procurement services. During construction we are available to layout, verify, and address issues or change requests that may arise. We also do the reconnaissance needed to find the right species and varietals of plant material. Our knowledge of the plant world and familiarity with several local nurseries’ availability can save time and ensure optimal quality.
